Will PO pub attract the 'Neanderthals' in Lynn?

AS A former resident of Blackfriars Street in Lynn, I cannot think of anything worse to put in the old Post Office building.
While I understand that a few establishments have closed in recent months within the town centre, I do not think it is a reason to bring yet another pub/restaurant to the town which has more than its fair share.

Many a weekend we were kept awake all hours of the night with "Neanderthals" who were unable to appreciate those of us who lived in the area.

Shouting at the top of their voices, ringing door bells, vomiting and urinating on doorsteps, putting unwanted, eaten food items through letter boxes, pulling up in cars with stereos on full blast.

I can even recall a full-on brawl in the junction of Railway Road and Blackfriars Street, which resulted in an injured man slumped in our doorway with us being left to clear the blood and glass off our doorstep – all very frightening, I'm sure you will agree.

The list of unwanted anti-social behaviour goes on, but never mind the local residents, or other businesses in the area who will go out of business as a result of such a restaurant/pub opening, so long as 30 jobs are created that's OK!

The police can't control the town centre late at night as it is.

Let's hope the development control board sees sense when this application is presented, rather than the ridiculous idea of allowing the amount of low-cost housing they have agreed to in Downham, never mind the local infrastructure!

Show that you do have a modicum of thought for those who live in the locality.

Karen Hobbs (Mrs),

Fennel Crescent,

Downham
