AN award-winning fundraiser is on track to raise more than £1,000 for the Lynn News Hunstanton Lifeboat Appeal, with her third event in aid of the lifesaving cause.
Methwold resident Madge Watts (78) – who won a Mayor's Voluntary Award for her charity work earlier this month – has already raised £888 for the £125,000 appeal, after two successful concerts at the village's St George's Church.

Around 65 people attended this month's event to see Norwich's popular Norvic Concordia ensemble. And a similar amount turned out to one held last month with West Norfolk man David Thomas on the keyboard and vocals by Tanya Lee, Sally Darby and Colin Wyatt.

Now the former Lynn News correspondent, who has raised thousands of pounds for charity since retiring 25 years ago, is planning a fashion show for the appeal – which has already smashed the £70,000 mark.

The show is being held at the 21 Room, adjoining Methwold Social Club in the High Street, from 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 23. There will also be a raffle and refreshments.
Tickets, costing £3.50, are now available from Mrs Watts on 01366 728211.
