Aida is coming to Lynn

A TOURING production of Verdi's epic Aida visiting Lynn in May will be one of the last chances nationally to enjoy the splendour of an Ellen Kent production.

After 25 years in the business, the award-winning ballet and opera producer is changing direction and making the current run her farewell tour.

After the summer, Ellen, who turns 60 next month, will change direction and focus on large-scale arena projects after launching her new company, Ellen Kent and Amphitheatre Productions, last year.

Her previous shows, including Madama Butterfly, packed out Lynn Corn Exchange and May's show, centred around the tragic love affair of a doomed Egyptian slave girl, is expected to be just as popular.

The opera, being staged at the Corn Exchange from 7.30pm on Friday, May 1, will be sung in Italian with English subtitles.

Tickets, costing from 30, are available online at www.kingslynncorn exchange.co.uk or from the box office on 01553 764864.
