Aladdin comes to Hunny's Princess Theatre

ONE of the world's best-loved pantomimes, Aladdin, has opened at Hunstanton's Princess Theatre this Christmas, bringing festive fun for all the family.

The age-old tale will unfold on stage at the popular seaside venue until Sunday, January 4.

The classic story, set in Old Peking, sees our hero Aladdin (Leona Marie) sent to retrieve a magic lamp from a booby-trapped cave.

With the help of a magic ring he returns from his errand unharmed. When Aladdin discovers the powers of the lamp, he becomes rich and powerful and marries the beautiful Princess Jasmine (Katrina Gibson), and they all live – you've guessed it – happily ever after.

The talented cast and team of dancers also includes Craig Cowdroy as Dame Widow Twanky, David Wilson as Wishee Washee, Alastair Natkiel as Abanazer and Richard Foster as Sergeant Pong.

Finally Clare Reilly plays the Spirit of the Ring and Lili-Mae Tuttle is the Genie.

The show is being put on with the help of West Norfolk Council and Mark Andrews Productions and will include performances on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

A spokesman urged audiences to get ready to cheer and boo because they were about to journey into the magical world of the panto!

"Join all your favourite characters, come along for a traditional family show with live music, comedy, laughter, singing and dancing.

There's plenty of opportunity for you to join in," he said.

"This is a show the whole family will enjoy and, whether you go before or after Christmas, it really is a wonderful way to enjoy the festive season."

Tickets cost between 9.50 and 12.50. For more details about boxes, group discounts and family tickets, as well as the exact dates and times of shows, contact the box office on 01485 532252.
