Beauty and the Beast at Clenchwarton
Dress Rehearsal for CMEG's show Beauty and the Beast at Clenchwarton Methodist Chapel
BEAUTY and the Beast is the latest offering from the stable of CMEG - Clenchwarton Methodist Entertainment Group.
The show has been written by long-time member Bill Sampson and is being produced by his son, Grahame.
It is based on the original version of the story and tells how the beautiful daughter of the rich merchant Baron Harding comes to fall in love with the beastly Igor, who lives in a castle and frightens off all-comers with his hideousness.
As usual, the cast features a wide range of ages (from about 11 to 80) and three people are making their debut on this occasion.
The accompanist this time will be Irene Whitehouse, stage manager will be Graham Uttin, choreography is by Caroline King and wardrobe by Penny Snape and Joan Edwards.
Performances of the show are taking place on Thursday (February 9) and Friday (February 10) at 7.30pm and on Saturday, February 11 at 3pm at the Methodist Chapel Schoolroom in Clenchwarton.
As ever, ths group is raising money for local charities and this time has picked Scotty’s Little Soldiers and the King’s Lynn Foodbank.
“As well as putting a large proportion of the ticket sales to these good causes, we will also be holding a raffle at all three performances to raise additional money,” a spokesman said.
Tickets are £4, adults, and £3 children and concessions and can be booked on 01553 772855 though will also be on the door.
Complimentary light refreshments will be served during the interval.
