Local author Bob Booth has had a successful year of writing and fundraising with the release of his latest book, More Memories of Lynn.

Released last October, the book of photographs of Lynn, mainly taken between the end of World War II and the 1970s, left Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s latest release, The Casual Vacancy, trailing in its wake.

Taking yet another trip down memory lane, the book was popular with Mr Booth’s regular readers, whose purchases helped raise £1,000 to be donated to Cancer Research UK.

He said: “These are the first donations from the book which is yet more nostalgia – mainly pictures of Lynn from 1945 until the early 90s.”

He added: “This year’s book will be a bit different – it will be the same format as my book from 2010 – it will be a street directory with names and pictures of people who lived in and around Lynn in 1933.

“This one will be popular with those who have lived in Lynn all their life and know where all the shops were and the people who lived here 80 years ago.

The book will cover Wootton Road, Gayton Road and all of roads you would expect to have been here all those years ago but there are plenty more which have disappeared.

Mr Booth said: “ I’ve lived in Lynn all my life and there’s still so much I don’t know.

“I’m always interested in old photos people might have, if anyone has any they can contact me through my website at www.trickysampublishing.co.uk.”
