Aargh, Jim lad... for a pantomime full of Jolly Roger fun, landlubbers need look no further than Clenchwarton where a special piratey performance is fundraising for a Lynn medical centre next month.
The cast of Clenchwarton Methodist Entertainment Group (CMEG) are staging Treasure Island, the Robert Louis Stevenson classic, following a performance in November of a little-known story of how a Russian narrowly averted a Third World War.
Their version of the literary classic tells the story of how Jim Hawkins found a map showing where a pot of gold may be buried, and how, with the help of Squire Trelawney and his associates, he sets off in search of his fortune.
But he does not bank on Long John Silver coming along for the voyage with his crew of pirates, who have other ideas about who will be claiming all of the riches.
Taking the classic story, the theatre group have given the tale their own twist by bringing new characters to the story, including several talking parrots and a rather shy Mary Ellen.

The script has been written by Bill Sampson, who has written shows for the group since it first started in 1984, with choreography by Caroline King.
The colourful costumes are the work of Penny Snape and Joan Edwards, who are dressing a cast of 20, half of these are local youngsters who are taking to the stage for the first time.
The group always choose a charity to support when putting on a show and have raised thousands for various causes over the last two decades. This time they are fundraising to pay for a 24-hour ECG machine for Southgates Medical Centre.
Treasure Island will be showing at Clenchwarton Methodist Schoolroom on February 7 and 8, with performances at 7.30pm, and on Saturday, February 9, at 3pm.
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £3 for concessions, including children. They can be booked by calling 01553 772855 or on the door.
