Don’t you just love to dance?

SPRING is just around the corner and the search is on for people aged seven to 70 who love to dance.

Choreographer Laura McGill is looking for recruits to help create and perform a unique dance production against the beautiful backdrop of Narborough Hall on April 22.

Spring Dances has been commissioned by Norfolk Dance, in partnership with Breckland Council, to provide the chance for people of all ages to take part in an innovative production and encourage visitors to look at the hall and gardens in a new way.

A project spokesman said: “No experience is needed to take part, just enthusiasm, commitment and a love of movement and performing.”

A taster workshop will be held at Litcham High School’s state-of-the-art dance studio on March 3 for anyone wanting to learn more about the project.

The intention is to hold rehearsals towards the end of March and throughout April, leading up to the open-air performance.

Breckland Council executive member Lynda Turner said: “If you have always wanted to try dancing or performing then this is the ideal opportunity to have a go, together with like-minded people.

“We are particularly encouraging people who live in the Breckland area but, anyone is welcome to apply.”

This community project is part of the district council’s ongoing dance development work to get more people dancing in the area.

Breckland and Norfolk Dance have worked with Litcham High School over the last year, using its special studio which now has a regular adult contemporary class and a youth dance company.

In this new project, Norfolk Dance will bring together people of all ages with a common interest to dance.
