Earth Day cancelled

THE North Norfolk Coast Earth Day, planned for April, has been cancelled.

It was announced on Tuesday that the event, organised through the team at Deepdale Backpackers and Camping and Deepdale Farm, will not now go ahead.

The idea of the day was to give businesses and individuals the chance to learn more about sustainability, be that conservation, energy efficiency, eco-friendly building materials or renewable technologies.

But spokesman Jason Borthwick told the Lynn News: “With the uncertainty of feed-in tariffs and nervous economic situation, there hasn’t been enough commitment from stand holders to make the event successful.

“Rather than disappointing either stand holders or visitors to the event, the team have decided to cancel the April 19 event and to redesign the day with the plan to relaunch in 2013.”
