Rehearsals for this year’s Christmas show are in full swing after last year’s performance saw numbers at a Fakenham performing school double.

Around 30 pupils will be showing off their musical talents, dancing moves and acting skills next weekend in the second ACTive Artz Christmas Variety Show.

The centre was set up last year by Fakenham drama school graduate, Ashley Martin, whose love of acting came from school shows and local amateur dramatic groups.

She said: “I returned to the area after working in the West End and felt there was a gap in the market for teaching performance skills alongside other groups who offer shows through audition.

“I decided to set up ACTive Artz to continue pursuing my love of acting while expanding on my love of teaching.

“We endeavour to make learning a completely unique experience, from teachers who have been trained in and have experienced the acting world.”

The performing school has seen the number of pupils double since last year’s performance, and Ashley is expecting this year’s performance to be bigger and better than ever.

She added: “The show is not just a show for friends and family members of our performers.

“It promises everything you would want from a local, feel-good, professional Christmas Show with a variety of songs, dancing and acting

“Not to be missed if you enjoy musicals or plays, you will not be disappointed!”

The Christmas Variety Show will be held at Fakenham Community Centre next Saturday, with a matinee performance at 2pm followed by an evening performance at 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 and are available to reserve by calling 07901 974184, they are also on sale in Sweets’n’Things in the town, or can be purchased on the door.
