INCINERATOR: Protest songs - listen here
SMOKE On The Wash is a CD by The Smokestack Rat Pack being sold to raise funds for the King’s Lynn Without Incineration campaign.
The CD contains songs written by “local musicians, poets and vegetable retailers” as part of the resistance to the plan to build an incinerator at Lynn.
“This isn’t a NIMBY response,” the cover leaflet says. “We know there are better ways to deal with our waste, by drastically reducing it and then by creating jobs and recycling it locally.”
Below are links to two tracks from the album. The first is Incinerator Blues by Lynn News columnist Jonathan Toye and the Rainbow Warriors.
The second is Who’s The Fool by Marshlander.
The CD has been being sold at KLWIN events for £5.
