Staff at Lynn’s Arts Centre are looking forward to a season of comedy as they prepare to welcome comedian Andrew Lawrence to the stage tomorrow night.

With several others lined up to visit the venue over the coming months, including Henning Wehn, Marcus Brigstocke, Josh Widdicome and Seann Walsh, the Arts Centre is set to become a comedy centre for the area.

Sheena Carmen, from the Arts Centre, said: “I think we’ve really found our niche. By bringing up-and-coming comedians to the town we are bringing something fresh to West Norfolk’s entertainment scene – and we hope these shows over the next few weeks will be well supported.”

On the back of a sell-out 50 date tour of the UK, Andrew Lawrence, star of BBC’s Live at the Apollo and Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week, will be entertaining a Lynn audience tomorrow night.

Twice nominated Best UK Headline Act at the Chortle Awards 2010 and 2011, and a former double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, audiences can expect the comedian to deliver an evening of top class stand-up.

Having established himself as one of the finest stand-up comedians in the country, his latest tour, Andrew Lawrence is Coming to Get You, debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August before travelling around the country.

His show at Lynn’s Arts Centre, tomorrow night, begins at 8pm. Tickets are still available to buy and reserve for £13 from the box office.

Comedy-lovers can also book tickets for Henning Wehn on Saturday, March 9 for £12, Marcus Brigstocke on Thursday, April 4 for £15, and the combined efforts of Josh Widdicome and Sean Walsh on Wednesday, June 12 for £14.

Call the Arts Centre box office on 01553 764864 to book tickets or for further information.
