A Lynn store welcomed the founder of the UK’s biggest cake club with sweet treats for the launch of her new cookbook on Thursday.

Mel and Alastair Done hosted the book launch at their High Street store, Cook to Perfection, where they invited members of the Clandestine Cake Club to bring along Valentine-themed cakes for the event.

Visiting to launch the Clandestine Cake Club Cookbook, author Lynn Hill, pictured above right with Mel and Alastair, was excited share it with members.

She said: “I’m really pleased with how the book turned out. We had between 170 and 200 recipes entered and the hard part was cutting those down to 120 and choosing the perfect Victoria Sponge recipe.

“Some of the recipes are my own, but most of them come from homebakers and they are recipes for homebakers - cakes that anyone can make.

“The best thing about the book is that all of the cakes have a story behind them. Each entry had to explain what inspired them to make the cake and we have used that in the book both in writing and drawings.”
