KING’S LYNN: Children have a fair old time in school

Staff and volunteers at Lynn Arts Centre welcomed the children from the travelling community for a special Mart school.

For the first time, the Traveller Education Service operated out of the Arts Centre to inspire the children by using the two newest exhibitions as a basis for work across the curriculum.

Liz Falconbridge, director of Lynn Arts Centre, said: “It’s the first time we’ve done this but we wanted to provide the children with a unique experience and we used our Chasing Tales exhibitions to do that.

“All of the work the children were doing was based around the exhibits, for example, for their geography they were mapping King John’s travels and treasure.

“We were delighted to be working in partnership with the Traveller Education Service here to give the children the best possible opportunity to learn in a stimulating environment.”

The artists, Karin Forman and Diana Stickley paid a visit to the children to talk about the exhibitions and lead art workshops.
