KING’S LYNN: Memories of the rail West Norfolk
Lynn’s Arts Centre Trust is planning to hold a railway exhibition in August to celebrate the railway network in West Norfolk and beyond in memory of Bob Hammond.
A rail enthusiast, and a great friend to the Arts Centre, Mr Hammond died last October and is to be commemorated through the exhibition, Remembering West Norfolk by Rail.
The exhibition is hoped to fill the Shakespeare Barn with rail memorabilia including signs, totems, photographs and more.
The Trust is keen to hear from anyone who may have collections or items they could lend to be exhibited or photographs that could be scanned and added to the collection.
Organisers hope to collect a significant railway archive for West Norfolk which will be a historic record.
The exhibition will cover all the rail lines that would have left both King’s Lynn and South Lynn, including Melton Constable, Wisbech, Norwich and Wells.
Contact the Arts Centre on 01553 779095 with any contributions.
