KING’S LYNN: Singers needed for new all-female choir

A new choir will give women across West Norfolk the opportunity to sing their hearts out and improve their health by working together from April.

Sing for Wellbeing, a organisation that already has groups across Lynn, Fakenham, Swaffham and Snettisham, will soon be running an all-female choir for women between 15 and 45-years-old.

Carol O’Neill, founder of Sing For Wellbeing, said: “The Lynn Female Vocale will be a performing choir designed to celebrate the female voice in all its creativity, inspiration and passion.

“The Choir offers women a chance to sing and bond in an imaginative, informal and fun environment where freedom of expression is encouraged.”

She added: “There has been a great surge in Military Wives Choirs since Gareth Malone made them popular in recent years. He has shown that there can be solidarity, support and friendship and that lives can be changed in a positive, life affirming way.

“Working on the same principles I feel that there is also a place for civilian women to sing together in cooperative and supportive groups.”

She said: “It doesn’t matter if you can’t read music and even if you have no experience of singing in groups it’s definitely worth putting your brave boots on and having a go.”

Beginning on April 15, the 12-week term will be held at Gaywood Church Rooms, in Lynn, on Mondays from 7–9pm and offers a special introductory discount for the Choirs’ very first term.

You don’t need to have any singing experience, or be able to read music, just pop along and try it out.

Those who are keen to take part should call on 01328 838316, email carol@singforwellbeing.co.uk or visit www.singforwellbeing.co.uk
