Lynn Fiction Festival ready to roll!
FINAL preparations are being made for next month’s Fiction Festival, the 24th in Lynn’s history.
The festival, which takes place at Lynn Town Hall from March 9 to 11, will include discussions and authors in conversation, culminating with a special event on the last day to mark the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth.
“The Fiction Festival presents some of the best contempotary writers in a congenial and informal setting,” said organiser Anthony Ellis.
“The authors read and discuss their work and will be available to chat and sign your purchases from the festival’s well-stocked book stall.”
This year, three writers of first novels are featured - Terri Armstrong, an Australian living in Norwich, Katy Darby, a graduate of the Creative Writing course at UEA, and Yvette Edwards who was included on the Booker long list for 2011.
The festival will also feature Andre Mangeot who has appeared at Lynn’s Poetry Festival and has published two collections of short stories.
Among other participants are Jake Wallis Simons, Mark Illis and from New York the Irish writer Tom Phelan, who are all being welcomed back to the long-standing festival which has become a favourite.
Tickets for each event are £8.50 and more information is available from Mr Ellis on 01553 691661.
