NORTH CREAKE: Well-known north Norfolk cook joins Creake Abbey team

A new face with years of experience cooking up culinary delights in north Norfolk is joining the team at Creake Abbey in North Creake.

Ali Yetman, formally of Yetman’s restaurant in Holt and Wiveton Farm Cafe, is taking on the role of head cook at Creake Abbey Cafe and Food Hall, a new venture opening in April.

And there’s a chance to meet the cafe and food hall team on Saturday, March 2, from 9.30am to 1pm, when the next Farmers’ Market takes place.

Last year Ali met fine food entrepreneur Stephen Harrison, who in conjunction with Creake Abbey owners, Diana and Anthony Scott, is the brainchild behind the new Creake Abbey Cafe and Food Hall.

Stephen said: “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to work with Ali, who is such a creative and well-respected chef.”

Though trained as a chef, Ali likes to be known as a cook and was well respected for her cuisine at her acclaimed restaurant Yetman’s, which she opened with her husband Peter in 1988. She then went on to set up and run the kitchens at Wiveton Farm Cafe in 2007 making the most of seasonal produce fresh from the farm.

She is now busy working with her new team at Creake Abbey to create an exciting new menu. She said: “I’m so pleased to be working with a kindred spirit like Stephen, He is as passionate about good food and delivering customers the best of service as I am.”

The Cafe and Food Hall is set to open for business in time for the April farmers’ market which takes place on Saturday, April 6.
