One-off special for fishing museum

AS PART of its continued fundraising, True's Yard museum in Lynn is putting on a special musical evening, along with local folk musicians, The Tilden Smiths, for a one-off special show.

Fishers End – A Musical Journey is a series of songs, inspired by the books written by Pat Midgely and Frank Castleton telling various stories about the old North End fishing community.

The evening will bring together local musicians Tom Thompson (guitar, bodhran, vocals), Neil Steed (guitar, vocals), Chris Hoddy (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Denny Rogers (double bass, fiddle, bodhran), Colin Tait (accordion) and Daisy Thompson (vocals)and young string quartet Melodia – Thomas Maddison (first violin), Georgina Sargent (second violin), Josh Williams (viola) and Heather Copeland (cello).

Norfolk author and historian Neil Storey will be narrating Fishers End –A Musical Journey' –at St Nicholas' Chapel on Saturday, May 30, 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Ticket prices: Adults 6; children under 12, 5. All proceeds are for True's Yard.

The Tilden Smith was once a fishermen's pub in Lynn's North End.
