Robin Hood riding through Heacham

ROBIN Hood will be riding through Heacham next week when a panto to lift the post-Christmas blues comes to the public hall.

The Pocahontas Players are staging the show at the Station Road hall on Thursday (January 15) for three performances, nightly at 7.30pm until Saturday, when there will also be a matinee at 2pm.

Robin Hood is an archetypal figure in English folklore who was known for robbing the rich to give to the poor.

The show gives the story a twist, seeing him involved in the hunt for King John's Treasure. Taking the lead role will be Jo Humphries, with Jim Race as the Sheriff of Sandringham (not Nottingham in this case!), Gary Pearce as Dame Filly, Alex Kendal as Friar Tuck and Tom Whybrow as Little John.

Other roles are taken by: Will C. Yasoon (Warren Marshall), Umbrella Woman (Vera Turner), Bish (Janet Fuller), Bash (Jeannie Tooley), Bosh (Janice Curtis), Ed and Octopus (Becca Whybrow), Eddie and Octopus (Jody Richardson), Miss Laid and Hoodie (Pat Southgate), Miss Placed and Robin Reliant (Lin Woodley), Cillet (Elaine Pygall), Bang, Red Beard and Hook (Sarah Collison), Prince John (Mike Trebbick), Big John (John Soughate), Emma Dale (Jean Smith), Mermaid Marion (Laura Thomas), Sea Shell Seller, Captain Birdseye, Blue Beard and Workman Two (Sarah Parkinson), Titanic (Lesley Trebbick), Pirate (Peter Everingham), Queen Triton and Workman One (Becky Burt), Girl (Ellen Bray), Dog (Bennie), King Richard and Green Beard (Barry Shaw), Sand Dancers (Lesley Trebbick, Elaine Pygall, Pat Southgate) and E Man (Dan Collison).

Tickets are 6 for adults, (4 for children under eight), available from 01485 571267.
