SWAFFHAM: Pride of the Lions

Achievements by two members of Swaffham and District Lions Club were recognised at its monthly club meeting.

Club president Steve Hudson presented Keith Mitchell with his 20-year membership pin, of which the past 16 years have been with the Swaffham club.

Mr Mitchell joined the organisation when he lived in Carterton, Oxfordshire. When he retired as headmaster of a local school, he and his wife, Elizabeth, moved to Norfolk where they had spent many happy holidays.

A previous Swaffham club president, Mr Mitchell has chaired most of the Lions’ committees. He was also the driving force in achieving the funding for the new Great Dunham Village Hall.

Dennis Tallon, the club’s activities committee chairman and public relations officer, was also presented with a pin for his work in recruiting new members into Swaffham Lions.
