This week we feature the lower and upper junior classes of Litcham Primary School in March, 1977.
At that time a hard-working parents’ amenities committee had provided various extra facilities over the years including a heated indoor swimming pool. Children used the pool for swimming lessons and were able to dive in for extra practice on some evenings during the week.
As reported last week, the school’s new headteacher, David Baldwin considered himself fortunate to have taken on such a happy school. He had previously taught at a London school and found it quite a change to work in a rural area, but was pleased to have settled in so quickly.
