Ridgeons League Premier Division
Woodbridge Tn 1 Lynn Reserves 2
Lynn Reserves manager Steve Lilley (pictured above) paid tribute to his young squad after they made their Premier Division status safe with two games to spare.
This was after winning this "six-pointer" at the fourth-from-bottom side.
Lilley said: "We put to the players the scenario if we had lost and results had gone against us – we'd have been in trouble.
"But from start to finish we were the better side. I'm delighted for the players, they deserve every credit.
"The first team financial situation has had a knock-on effect on us, with lack of expenses, but the lads have just knuckled down and never complained."
Goals came from Joe Setchell from 30 yards in the first half and Lee Hyde in the second half after Woodbridge had levelled by half-time.
Lilley added: "We had the wind behind us in the first half and Joe couldn't have hit the shot any cleaner, you knew it was going to cause the keeper problems.
"Lee chested the ball down at a corner and it was a good finish for a centre-half."
For the Ridgeons League Premier Division trip to all-but-relegated basement side Haverhill Rovers on Thursday, Kyle Nicholls (swollen ankle), Robbie Palmer (back) and Rory Harper (hamstring) are missing for Lynn Reserves.
Charlie Defty, Dominic Dwyer and Ross Kelly should be available now that they are free from first team duty.
Division One
Fakenham Town, who tonight host Thetford Town, lost 4-1 at Brantham. Downham Town lost 6-0 at Debenham LC.
