LINNETS forward Jack Defty is a major doubt for tonight's first-ever Blue Square North home game with Redditch United.
The Lynn-based frontman is set to join the honeymooning John Turner on the sidelines after picking up an injury in Saturday's draw at Burscough, Lynn's first-ever Conference point.

Lynn manager Keith Webb said: "Jack is very doubtful for Tuesday.

"I don't know the extent of the damage yet, but his back went into spasm.

"We've got a good enough squad to cope with it. It's good that we can change systems and do reasonably well."

With Defty being the sole target man, will Webb's selection have to change?

He may opt to change the formation from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2, to start with Julian Joachim and another forward.

Webb said: "It might be different, I'll look into it. I'll sleep on it, take the decision and let everyone know on Tuesday."

Redditch United lost 2-0 at home to Gateshead in their opening fixture.

"I don't know anything about Redditch. I'm just looking at us, we're raring and ready to go," commented Webb.

"If we work harder and pass the ball better, then we'll have a good game, and Redditch will have a job to beat us.

"We've just got to take on board what we've learned, and put it into practice."

Webb added: "I'm looking to get a clean sheet and our first-ever Conference win.

"We've got to look to attack at home, where it will be key.

"I don't think many teams will like coming all the way to Lynn. It's important we use it to our advantage."

On the probability of a large crowd, Webb said: "There will be a few hopefully. The fans will get behind us like they did last year, and I hope we can give them something to cheer.

"They've got to be patient as it's a new experience for us. I don't want people to be talking about winning leagues.

"We've got to make sure we're patient with people as well. Some haven't played at that level before.

"As long as we improve as we go along, then I'll be happy."
