THE Linnets face their biggest game of the season tomorrow when they travel to Wroxham in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The big Norfolk derby, which will see the winners pick up a cheque for £7,500, has caught the imagination of the public and is fast heading for a 1,100 sell-out.

Lynn have sold the majority of their 700 allocation of tickets and have been given 10
0 more by Ridgeons side Wroxham, who have sold more than 200 themselves.

On the tie, Linnets boss Keith Webb said: "It will give the players a real boost having two-thirds of the crowd on our side, but we won't be taking Wroxham for granted.

"It's an awkward pitch with a bit of a slope and they like to play football. They have some good footballers in their side who are capable of causing some teams problems.

"People automatically think that because we play three leagues higher than Wroxham then we will win, but with cup competitions that's not the case.

"The FA Cup always throws up the possibility of a big upset and we've got to make sure it isn't us."

Webb added: "We've approached the game like we would any other. We had a good training session on Tuesday and I want the players to remain focused.

"Lynn have a great tradition in the FA Cup and I'd love to take the club on a good cup run. It's something I've never experienced as a manager before."

Wroxham player-manager (and ex-Linnet) Damian Hilton said: "Before the draw I thought how it would be nice to get King's Lynn – and then it happens.

"We played them pre-season at the start of last year but they've had a lot of changes since then.

"I know Keith Webb from my time at Norwich City when he was youth team manager and we know a few of their players, as they know a few of ours.

"This is a fairly mammoth task, but we are at home and you never know.

"As a manager the league is always the priority, but the lads always relish the FA Cup, for obvious reasons.

"It's a bit of a no-lose situation at the moment – but winning is not impossible."

The Linnets have no fresh injury concerns with Ben Chapman and Mark Camm still ruled out.

Ridgeons League Premier Wroxham hope to have Lee Gilmore and ex-Linnet Alex Notman back in their squad after the duo missed the home FA Vase defeat by Leiston last weekend.

This will be the 40th Norfolk tie that Lynn face. They have won 28 and lost 10.

The last time Lynn met a Norfolk team in the FA Cup they lost at Wroxham in the 1996/97 season.

Further tickets have been obtained from Wroxham and these will be on sale until the supply is sold out.

Tickets: Adults £10, concessions £6 and children (16 years and under) £3.

These will be available from the commercial office at the ground today during normal office hours.

Filming Tie

ITV will be filming the Norfolk tie as the station now have the rights to the FA Cup and are following the cup from the extra-preliminary round onwards.

The footage will be made available to ITV Anglia News bulletins after the match and an edited highlights package will be broadcast on www.itv local.com/anglia/facup from Monday morning.
