LINNETS boss Keith Webb may have a new face in his squad for tomorrow's friendly clash at Stamford.

Webb was due to run the rule over a right-sided defender at training last night and, if impressed, will include the mystery player in his squad for tomorrow.

Lynn's trip to the UniBond outfit is their last friendly on the road, ahead of home run-outs against both a Norwich City XI and Hillingdon Borough at The Walks next week.

Then their Blue Square North campaign begins on Saturday, August 9.

Webb said yesterday: "If everything goes okay on Thursday then he should be involved.

"He's a right-sided player and his agent made contact with us. He has a decent pedigree, but will need to be better than what we've already got at the club.

"If I bring anyone else in I'll have to let others go."

Defender Ben Chapman is Lynn's only worry for the trip with a slight groin strain.

Fellow defender Mark Peters has shown no ill-effects from his 20-minute stint against Great Yarmouth and should be involved.

On the game, Webb said: "It will be a tough battle. It will be a bit mix and match, but I'm starting to look towards our first league game at Burscough.

"Hopefully we can score more goals, but I'd be more concerned if we were failing to create the chances.

"I'm happy with our blend of midfielders. They give me a number of options as they all give us something a bit different."

Mascots

  • Mascots and ballboy/girls are needed for next season.

The club wishes to remind fans that this is a free service.

  • Club officials announced on Monday that Lincolnshire- based Sleafordian Coaches will be providing coach transport for the team this season as they embark on their first Blue Square North campaign.

A club official added: "We welcome Sleafordian's interest in the club and we look forward to working with them over the next season."

With the first league trip to Burscough on August 9 fast coming up, supporters are reminded that Sable Coaches will again be providing coach transport to all away games this season (if enough people wish to travel).

For details please contact Stephen Bland on 01553 761410. Please do not ring the club.
