LYNN Reserves' inconsistent start to the campaign continued with a home defeat by last season's league runners-up.

Manager Steve Lilley said: "Needham Market are a good side, but I wouldn't say they were in the same class as Lowestoft.

"We were in the game for a long time and were disappointed not to get something from it. Needham's extra experience told in the end.

"If we weren't competing in games then I'd be more worried. We had a young side out with key players missing. Our decision-making cost us at times."

Dom Dwyer came closest to scoring for Lynn, but saw his solo effort saved by the goalkeeper.
