Webb: No fears for tough trek

LINNETS boss Keith Webb says his side has nothing to fear from tomorrow's daunting Blue Square North trip to Southport.
The high-flying Sandgrounders could go top of the table if they can beat The Walks outfit and Tamworth slip up at Farsley Celtic.
But on the eve of their sternest away trip of the season so far, Webb said: "Don't get me wrong, Southport are a good side and a big club and it will be extremely tough, but I don't fear anyone in this league.
"Southport are beatable. Boston went there and won in the FA Cup and Redditch also won there in the league and I told the players that.
"We have to go there and treat it like a cup game and we go into the match full of confidence off the back of two wins.
"Southport have been there or thereabouts at the top of the table for the last couple of seasons and are favourites to go up this season, so the pressure is on them.
"As far as I'm concerned there's no pressure on us other than the pressure we put on ourselves."
The Linnets will have to do it the hard way if they want to win at Haig Avenue with influential striker Jack Defty starting the first of a three-game suspension.
Webb, who could use either John Turner or Michael Frew as a target man in Defty's absence, said: "It's a huge blow not having Jack, but I've got other options open to me and we worked on them in training.
"It's up to the player I bring in to take their opportunity and make my job a little bit more difficult when Jack is available again."
Although the Linnets don't have the best record against sides at the top of the table this season, Webb said: "We were taught a footballing lesson in the Harrogate defeat and it was the wake-up call we needed.
"We played very poorly at home to Farsley but did very well at home against Tamworth, especially when we got to grips with our game in the second half."
On Wednesday, the Linnets extended defender Luke Graham's loan stay at the club from Kettering.
The versatile Graham, who scored his first goal in Lynn colours last weekend, will now remain at The Walks until January 5.
Webb said: "I'm delighted we've managed to keep Luke here longer.
"He has done very well for us so far and the deal suits all three parties.
"Kettering are getting use out of the player, we're getting use of the player and Luke is getting games himself.

"By playing games of football he is putting himself in the shop window. He has done well in this league before and is a tremendous asset in the changing room."
Bradley Thomas – Lynn's second loan defender – could return as early as Wednesday for the long trek to Gateshead following a minor achilles injury.
"We won't risk Bradley for Southport, but I'm hoping he'll be alright for next week," said Webb.
The club also wishes to explain the re-arranged Gateshead fixture. The club were given a choice of two dates – next Wednesday or Wednesday, December 3.
