Linnets boss Keith Webb revealed that he will be looking at an ex-pro trialist at training on Thursday.
He said: "He's been in the pro game, and has just been released.

"He will be coming to training on Thursday and may be playing on Saturday."

Webb looked at ex-Norwich City central midfielder Rob Kelly, who played wide right, in the weekend draw at Great Yarmouth (see page 63 of today's Lynn News).

On the 18-year-old who Webb worked with at Norwich, and has just been released by the Canaries, he said: "He's one for the future. I told him that at the moment with competition for places, he'd find it difficult to get in the side.

"He wanted to spend some time with us, and he'll be training with us for a couple of weeks."

Fans' forum

THE club confirmed that it is to raise the floodlighting to football league standard at Thursday's fans' forum, which saw 40 to 50 people attend.

The work on The Walks floodlights is hoped to be done next season.

The club is also to meet borough council officials over the state of the Cockleshell Walk track to the stadium at the Seven Sisters end and, at the opposite end of the ground, the state of the front car park.

As stadium owners, the upkeep is the responsibility of the council, supporters were reminded.

Linnets boss Webb said that Julian Joachim and Danny Bloomfield are fighting for one spot alongside Jack Defty up front.

Chairman Ken Bobbins revealed that the whole of the club website will be monitored for content by the Conference, and derogatory comments towards Conference officials would result in a fine for the club.

Webb hinted his first choice defence would be Ben Chapman, Greg Crane, Mark Peters and Simon Weaver.
