Hilgay resident Valerie Gooding is hoping this picture, published in the Lynn News in 1959, will provide some happy memories for former players with the village football team.
A copy of the photograph was found among the belongings of her late husband Fred Gooding, a former team captain and secretary of Hilgay Football Club, who died a few months ago.

Mrs Gooding said: "After he finished playing he became a referee and always lived in the Ten Mile Bank and Hilgay area.

"The people in the picture are all friends of his from the village and a lot of them still live locally. Ralph Palmer (back right) was best man at our wedding."

Pictured above are: Back, from left, G. Veal, John Brown, Norman Cox, Gordon Smith, Fred Gooding and Ralph Palmer. Front, from left, Stan Coulson, Percy Clifton, Mick Clifton, George Barrett and Norman Whicker.
