Putting their best feet forward are members of Middleton Primary School football team pictured in May 1957.
The team, which played in the Lynn Primary Schools league, finished runner-up during the 1956/57 season after losing the last game to a fluke bounce.
Robin Rye, who was in goal that day, recalled how the ball landed in a hole in the hardened mud of the goal area.
"I just stood back to collect the ball but it wobbled the other way," said Mr Rye (62) who admitted to being "suitably embarrassed".
Mr Rye, of Wormegay Road, Blackborough End, remembers the bounce half a century on with horror – also that professionalism prevailed. "The lads were all still talking to me," said Mr Rye, then 12, who became the manager of a road surfacing company and is now semi-retired.
Mr Rye thought others would like the chance to look back on the team, some 50 years later, to see what memories they had.
"Ten team members still operate in the local area though Richard English is in the West Country," said Mr Rye, adding Danny Fry was the only one he hadn't information about.
Anyone who knows Mr Fry's whereabouts, or has more information about the photograph, is asked to write to Look back, Lynn News, Limes House, Purfleet Street, King's Lynn, PE30 1HL, email
