As millions of people across Britain cast their ballots in yesterday’s elections, one candidate hoping to return to Westminster for a second term met a voter who has seen many more polling days.

Pat Voss, who is 101, cast her vote at the Swaffham Assembly Rooms on Thursday morning, where she met environment secretary Elizabeth Truss, the Conservative candidate for the South West Norfolk consitituency.

Pat, who has lived in Swaffham for the past 35 years, first became eligible to vote when she turned 21 in 1935 and has not missed a general election since.

The other candidates contesting the seat were Rupert Moss-Eccardt (Liberal Democrat), Peter Smith (Labour), Paul Smyth (UKIP) and Sandra Walmsley (Green Party). MLNF15PM05070
