A NEW facility is being launched to showcase the range of technology available to help people living at home with conditions such as dementia and epilepsy.
Norfolk Social Services assistive technology service has developed a room at Crossroads Day Centre, South Wootton, designed to look like a room in the home and kitted it out with technologies available free to eligible people to aid independence.
Technologies on display include things like alarms triggered when someone has a fall, epilepsy sensors that detect the signs of a fit and electronic calenders.
The facility – known as a Smart Home – is similar to five others elsewhere in the county but is a first for the Lynn area.
It is officially launched on Monday, September 22, and will be available to health professionals and families and sufferers who could benefit. More information: 0844 8008014.
