A driver more than twice over the drink-drive limit was seen by police to clip the kerb, Lynn magistrates heard on Wedneday.
Inga Vasilevska (31), of 301 Hillington Square, Lynn, admitted driving with excess alcohol in London Road, Lynn, on August 11. She was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £65 and ordered to pay £15 costs.

Mr Nicholas Crampton, prosecuting, said the offence was committed shortly after midnight. A police officer smelled alcohol in the car. When tested, her breath showed 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

Tim Bartlam, for Vasilevska, said his client came to the UK from Latvia nearly ten years ago and spoke very good English. She worked until April 2007. A mother-of-two, she was waiting to be divorced and planned to return to work when her youngest child went to school. It was her first appearance before the court.

She went out in the car because she had run out of milk and foolishly drove a short distance.
