SPECIALIST firefighters were called to Fincham over fears a road spill from a split barrel was hazardous.
Around 100 litres of the initially unidentified substance were spilled across 150 yards of the A1122 at around 6.30pm last night (Tuesday).
Crews from Downham, Swaffham and Lynn and the chemical incident unit attended and decided the substance was not harmful. A police spokesman said it was thought to be some kind of cleaning fluid.
The road was blocked for around an hour until the spill was cleared.
