colleagues of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) sufferer Chris Brotherton have rallied round to help the support group he has set up achieve its latest goal.
Employees at Snap-on Diagnostics, at Lynn, persuaded the company to donate the £50 the group needed to launch its own website.

Mr Brotherton’s fellow workers saw an article about the new group published in our sister paper The Citizen last month. “They stepped in without my knowledge and as a result the company has given us a cheque,” said Mr Brotherton, who is the group treasurer.

He said that he expects the website to be up and running in the next few weeks.

“Once that happens we will be able to reach people who are unable to attend our meetings,” he said.

The support group was set up about 12 months ago to help people suffering with obsessive compulsive disorder and meets every first and third Wednesday at Lynn’s Mind centre and every second and fourth Wednesday at the Downham centre.

Mr Brotherton said that there has also been interest and inquiries from people in the Heacham area and they hope to start up meetings there in the future.

Joining him to accept the cheque from Snap-on Diagnostics was the group’s chairman Dan Blackwell who was seen on BBC’s Horizon programme earlier this month. He was among a group of volunteers who took part in a series of challenges designed to highlight different mental illness, including OCD.

The website address is www.ocdnorfolk.co.uk
