YOUNGSTERS in Lynn's Friars neighbourhood have celebrated the official opening of their new play area with a fun-filled party.
The event included a bouncy castle, entertainment and a celebration cake and saw local youngsters cut the ribbon to officially open the play area.

West Norfolk Mayor David Johnson made a guest appearance and residents were invited to help make the area more attractive by planting flowers and shrubs.

The play area includes colourful pictures and sculptures, which follow a nautical theme inspired by sketches and ideas produced by children from Whitefriars Primary School.

The £100,000 project was funded by the Improving Neighbourhoods Board and now includes a CCTV camera to provide extra security for the area.
