David Taylor Associates is hoping to build the semi-detached and terraced dwellings on land west of Mill Lane, off Wootton Road, adjacent to the Millfields residential development.

But the plans have met with opposition from residents who have raised a number of concerns ranging from an increase in traffic congestion to how the new properties will overlook their homes.

West Norfolk Council planners have received seven letters of objection and one letter of support signed by seven residents.

A decision on the scheme was deferred by the council's development control board last month. Alterations have since been made to the plans, including re-positioning of plots and alterations to parking space positions.

A report to today's meeting says the development is over-bearing and would result in an unacceptable loss of privacy.

The report adds that the number of units means the development is cramped and would lead to the loss of one of very few areas of landscaping on Millfields.
