ELECTION fever will soon be hitting the county as local young people prepare to hit the ballot box.
Norfolk County County was on Wednesday beginning the search for budding politicians to come foward as candidates for this year's round of the UK Youth Parliament elections.
The council is looking for young people aged 11 to 18 who want to make a positive difference to other youngsters' lives.
There are eight seats up for grabs in the county and candidates can either stand for the constituency where they live or the constituency where they go to school or college.
Each member of Youth Parliament has the same constituency as their local MP and will work closely with them.
County council member for children's services, Mrs Rosalie Monbiot, said: "Young people can vote for their local MYP who will then represent their views locally and nationally."
Voting takes place in the week beginning January 21 at high schools, colleges and youth venues.
