CALLS have been made for a roundabout at a notorious West Norfolk accident blackspot which this week claimed the life of 17-year-old motorist Kerry Ann Powell.
And, in response to the crash and rising accident statistics, Norfolk County Council has pledged to visit the junction to see what can be done to prevent such tragedies in future.
Miss Powell was on her way to work as a senior assistant at Bliss hairdressing salon in Sutton Bridge when her red Fiat Punto collided with a white Volvo tractor and trailer at the Station Road junction with the A17 at Terrington St Clement.

Deputy leader of West Norfolk Council and Terrington St Clement representative Brian Long spoke of previous fatalities at the junction and called for action.
"I think something ought to be done because of the amount of traffic which comes up from Terrington and St John's," said Mr Long, who uses the junction regularly himself.
"There have been fatalities there in the past," said Mr Long, who called for a roundabout to solve the problems.
The junction is midway between Sutton Bridge and Lynn on a long, straight stretch of the A17. There are road signs at the junction but nothing to indicate there have been problems at the location in the past.
Norfolk County Council spokesman Steven Reilly revealed figures showed that there had been 12 injury accidents at the junction in the last decade, two fatal.
"In the last five years we have had one fatality, three serious-injury accidents and one slight-injury accident," said Mr Reilly.
There have also been many more non-injury accidents in the area, including one just three weeks ago.
Mr Reilly added: "We will look at the signage to see if there are any immediate issues as regards visibility.
"We will subsequently look at whether or not any permanent improvements to the junction can be made."
Norfolk police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at 10.24am on Tuesday.
Staff at Bliss were alerted to the fact that something was wrong when Miss Powell, who had recently passed her driving test, did not turn up for a meeting.
Members of staff have been left "devastated", said a spokesman, adding that clients were equally upset.
He described Miss Powell, who lived in Long Sutton, as a "super girl" who would be greatly missed. Norfolk police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact Sergeant Mark Murphy at Swaffham Road Policing on 0845 456 4567.
