THE QUEEN'S Sandringham Estate played host to the region's fundraisers at the weekend when more than 1,000 people put their best foot forward to support two of the country's leading cancer charities.
Runners from across Norfolk were greeted by glorious sunshine for the Cancer Research UK 10k run, which was set in the estate's stunning grounds.
The fundraiser was one of a series of 10k events, supported by Tesco, which are taking place at 34 venues across the country this autumn.
Organiser Gemma Cookham said: "I am elated with how many people took part and those who turned up to show their support.
"We now need everyone who took part to help us to smash our fundraising target of £72,000."
Walkers also made the most of the gorgeous weather to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The charity staged a two and seven-mile stroll through the wooded estate, which was organised to coincide with the changing colour of the trees during the autumn period.
More than 120 walkers took part in the event but the amount raised is still being counted.
