SPRINGWOOD High School has been celebrating the success of star pupil David Martin, after his marks in this year's GCSE German exam fell within the top ten in the country.
His success came in a field of 19,484 candidates and the 16-year-old is continuing his flair for languages at the Lynn school's sixth form centre.

Languages teacher Tom Calow was delighted to hear of David's success and said his excellent results were a fine reward for his hard work in the classroom.

He added: "We expected him to do well but he has never shown the slightest bit of arrogance.

"We are extremely proud of him, he is such a cracking lad."
