A WOMAN cut off by the tide at Titchwell was rescued by the Hunstanton Lifeboat hovercraft at about 6.30pm yesterday (19).
Lifeboat operations manager Robin Rafferty said the woman and her two dogs were taken to safety at Brancaster in a combined operation with Hunstanton coastguards.

Mr Rafferty said the woman, who was distressed but unhurt, had crossed a creek which filled up behind her when the tide came in.

A spokesman for Yarmouth Coastguard Station said the woman, who was about 50 and came from the Dereham area, realised she was in difficulties but was in no immediate danger.

She used her mobile phone to contact a member of her family who alerted the coastguards. "We got her mobile phone number and were able to speak directly to her," he added.
