YOUNG people across the region are being encouraged to bid for a share of more than £2 million as Norfolk's Youth Fund begins its third year.
Since its creation the fund has supported more than 700 projects across the county, providing activities and opportunities for thousands of young people.

The fund is administered through Norfolk County Council and £1.5 million has been invested in schemes in both rural and urban areas over an 18-month period.

A further £2.3 million is now available to spend over the next three years and the council is appealing for young people to come forward with ideas which could support others in their community, particularly youngsters with limited access to opportunities.

Decisions on how the fund is allocated will be made by panels of young people, supported by representatives from the council and the Norfolk Council for Voluntary Services.

Alistair Wright, chairman of the youth fund county board, said: "So far we have done so much and in the future we can do so much more. It really is just a great opportunity for everyone aged 13 to 19.

"The board has been given this wonderful chance to give out all this money but the most satisfying thing is to know we are making a difference in so many communities."
