DETECTIVES are investigating the death of a woman who was admitted to hospital after suffering a serious assault, it was revealed yesterday.
The 58-year-old woman from South Lynn, who originates from Lithuania, was found conscious in Wisbech Road at 10.10am on Saturday.

She was admitted to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital but her condition deteriorated and she died on Tuesday. Police said her death was being treated as suspicious following a post mortem, but were unwilling to make public results of the examination.

A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation on Tuesday remains in police custody.

Anyone with any information about what happened should contact Det Chief Insp Neil Firm at Lynn CID on 0845 456 4567.
