Advice issued following appearance of stranded whale on Hunstanton beach

The sperm whale stranded on Hunstanton beach, which died on Friday, has attracted a lot of interest from the media and members of the public.  Following consultation with Public Health England, West Norfolk Council have issued the following advice.

Do not touch the whale or allow dogs to come into contact with it, Shellfish in this area must not be collected for personal consumption, water sports enthusiasts, including bathers, should be aware that water quality could be affected and if you become unwell after using the water please seek medical advice.
