Choosing somewhere to eat, drink or shop in West Norfolk will now be even easier after the launch of an official app.
The free Visit West Norfolk app lists places to stay, facilities, activities and events, too.
It can also notify users about businesses which currently have offers on that might interest them.
The app, provided by West Norfolk Council, is available for iOS and Android users.
Elizabeth Nockolds, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for culture, heritage and health, said: “An app is a great addition to the ways visitors to Lynn and West Norfolk can find out what this part of the world has to offer.
“The more local businesses are featured on the app, the more it will have to offer to users, so we’re giving local businesses the opportunity to be featured on the app, free of charge.”
Visit West Norfolk can track a user’s location and let them know about nearby attractions to help them discover something new.
Users can add any listing to their favourites, to personalise the app, and build up lists of places they can refer back to at any time.
You can find exactly what you fancy by filtering the options, too.
If you are looking for a place under the ‘eat and drink’ section and only want somewhere that has local produce, then you can filter accordingly.
By clicking on an attraction, restaurant or event, the app will detail a brief description of it, as well as any relevant information regarding the prices, facilities, contacts and the location.
It also gives you the option to visit their website, give them a ring, view the location in a GPS app, or share the information via email or on Facebook. Businesses can be listed on the app for free until July 2017 – after that there will be no obligation for businesses to continue their listing on the app.
