A special drop-in session for people with arthritis is being held at Gaywood Library this Thursday, November 6, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
They are invited to go along and have a chat with the Arthritis Care’s community champions, get information and self management tips and advice on local services.
There will be another session at the same venue and times on December 4.
Arthritis is the most common cause of chronic pain in the UK.
But charity officials say that, although the condition accounts for one in five of all GP visits, almost nine out of ten people say that, on diagnosis, they received nothing to help them understand or deal with the effects of the condition.
People have highlighted concerns about independence, mobility, the risk of social isolation and depression due to the pain and loss of confidence.
