Roadworks planned to alleviate flooding in Back Lane, West Winch, have been put back due to inaccurate gasline and sewer maps.
The drainage work was due to begin yesterday and continue until Friday, August 15, but now it will not start until Monday, August 18, and will continue Friday, August 29.
During the roadworks, Back Lane will be closed to through traffic for two weeks from the junction with Common Close to outside no 44 Back Lane.
Norfolk County Council said that by changing the dates, the impact of the scheme will be minimised, by ensuring that Back Lane is closed for the minimum length of time, but will still be open at the beginning of the school term.
However, there is a possibility that traffic lights will be required to complete the scheme at the junction with Back Lane/Common Close/Archdale Close but these will be removed before the start September 4, when school restarts.
The county council has contacted Norfolk Green buses to inform them of the change.
A new advance warning board will be put up on site and letters are being sent to residents affected by the work.
