Balancing act as Swaffham Lions host pancake races

Swaffham Lions held a very successful Pancake Race event outside Swaffham Assembly Rooms.

Seven teams, many in fancy dress, took part in a series of fun-filled knockout races, where they ran 25 metres and tossed the pancake, much to the amusement of the 60-strong crowd

The winners from Tesco beat the team from the Market Cross Restaurant in a thrilling final, which was the best of five races.

Tesco were presented with an engraved frying pan as champions of Swaffham.

Last year’s winners from the Sacred Heart School were knocked out in the semi-final.

Before the main races, 15 nursery children from the Teenie Iceni Day Nursery also had a go, much to the delight of many watching parents.
